As a homeschooled student, I have always had the freedom to pursue my passions. The ability to follow what I found interesting helped me develop a deep love for learning. I have enjoyed the freedom to choose what I wanted to learn, along with how I wanted to learn it. Homeschooling has also given me the ability to become more detail-oriented and organized, and to understand my own natural rhythm as a learner.

In 2020, my family relocated from Washington State to Puerto Rico. Adjusting to life on a tropical island brought new challenges and opportunities, from learning to navigate a bilingual environment to embracing the richness of Puerto Rican culture. Over time, I have flourished in this multicultural setting, gaining resilience, adaptability, and a deeper appreciation for diverse perspectives.

In order to become more prepared for college, I enrolled in Laurel Springs Academy before my sophomore year of high school. Within this high school, I have the opportunity to work with and learn from smart, like-minded individuals.

Summer College Programs: Over the summer of 2025, I attended the highly selective Stanford Humanities Institute, where I studied Ancient Rome and Its Legacies. The previous summer, I participated in both the Yale Young Global Scholars Program and the Harvard Pre-College Program. At Yale, I explored Literature, Philosophy, and Culture, while at Harvard I examined Women, Medicine, and Health.

Beta Camp Entrepreneur Program: In the spring of 2023 I was selected for Beta Camp, a 3-month virtual Entrepreneurship and Business program for teens. Beta Camp gave me hands-on experience building a business from the ground up.  I talked four of my friends from Puerto Rico into joining me, and together we built Modern Patch, a company that developed adhesive tape for diabetic supplies, aimed at the Gen Z audience with Insulin Dependent Diabetes. We developed a prototype, pitched to real investors, and ended up winning the Best Teamwork award.
